Boarding kennels provide dog owners with a place for their pets to stay when they aren’t able to travel with them. Make sure your dog is vaccinated

Ask your dog’s veterinarian if your pet is due for any shots no later than 2 weeks before boarding time. Fill out all forms from the kennel
Go through all of the paperwork from the kennel, and fill everything out. Make sure you include contact information, so the kennel can reach you if any problems or concerns come up. You should also let the kennel know the name and number of your veterinarian in case of an emergency. Find out how your kennel handles veterinary emergencies and where they typically bring pets to for prompt treatment. You can always call ahead of time to see if you can get the paperwork in advance so that you have plenty of time to get all the information needed.
Bring familiar items
Your dog will feel more comfortable and at ease with familiar items around. Bring your dog’s bed or favorite blanket, along with a few toys. Don’t change your dog’s diet
You don’t want your dog to end up with digestive problems from switching foods while staying at a boarding kennel. Continue to use your dog’s regular food, and see if you can bring it with you to the kennel. Most kennels allow dogs to eat their normal food while boarding. Write out feeding instructions for the kennel if needed, such as if your dog is on a special diet.
Stay calm when dropping your dog off
When it’s time to drop your dog off at the boarding kennel, don’t make a big fuss. This can end up making your dog more upset about being left at the kennel while you leave. Instead, stay calm and happy when dropping your dog off at the kennel and saying goodbye. This can help your dog feel more relaxed while being in new surroundings.
